At Khamsiri Community Centre our purpose is to share the love of Jesus by serving the children of the impoverished and marginalized inner city. We offer them a safe place to come, play, learn, discover, grow and be loved and accepted. We do this through various activities such as teaching life skills, cooking and baking instruction, arts and crafts and imaginative play. Additionally, we strive to demonstrate healthy personal boundaries and mentor the children in areas such as self-worth, respect, and critical thinking. Proficient English skills are vital for the children as they grow older and consider opportunities for their future, so we teach basic conversational English. A quality education is highly valued and crucial for future success, so we invest in the children’s education through the “Education Matters” program. This program currently sponsors many of the children in the community to obtain a quality primary and secondary education. Our goal is to love the community well, improve future opportunities for these children and their families and create a safe and supportive environment for growth.
