medical mission trip to Thailand
Karis is finishing her 3rd year of Nursing training at Biola, and has received a letter requesting her help to provide basic family health training for parents in remote mountain villages of Northern Thailand. The parental training includes a strong emphasis on nutrition and dental hygiene, and recognizing markers for diseases that might need medical attention. The training is being planned to take place over 3 weekends in May and the first week of June. In between the weekends, the Lahu church leaders also want to provide a vacation Bible school for young children in the villages. Karis has been to some of these communities and has seen the need firsthand. Karis' family is involved in ongoing discipleship for church leaders in these communities so the health training and children's Bible school help to support the ongoing long-term work with local church-based follow up.
Donations can be made out to Cord Ministries International (ear marked for Karis) and mailed to PO Box 102, Wheaton, IL 60187-0102.
