Grace schmied, graceworks

It’s not easy to summarize everything Grace is involved in, her family just says “GraceWorks”. She grew up helping her parents in ministry as they served and serve as home missionaries with InFaith (for over twenty years now). They have tried to keep Christ at the center of all they do and have involved the whole family, Grace, Liberty, Isaac, Jubilee and Mari-Delight in every aspect of ministry. Vacation Bible Schools, Neighborhood Bible Clubs and summer camps were among the first outreach projects in which she was directly involved. Serving alongside her parents in ministry for so many years has led to a desire to serve more diligently.

In 2 Corinthians 12:9 Jesus tells Paul “My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.”  Paul says “Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.” Grace’s desire is that Christ’s power will rest on her and that she will not boast in her works but rather in her weaknesses, as Ephesians 2:8-9 says “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of ourselves it is a gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.” and Ephesians 1:7 “We have redemption in Christ through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace,” So Grace says as Paul did “I became a servant of this gospel by the gift of God’s grace given me through the working of His power.” Ephesians 3:7 It’s taken time, prayer, and thought to decide on a project name. GraceHelps was one of the original ideas but it isn’t quite the right play on words. Yes, Grace Schmied helps, but God’s grace doesn’t help, God’s grace is what makes salvation work, so “GraceWorks”.

Grace works in the kitchen at summer Bible camps in June and July. You’ll find her in a camp kitchen somewhere between western Kansas, Oklahoma and Illinois.

Grace works with the south-central Kansas area volunteer Operation Christmas Child team to promote, pack and send off OCC shoe boxes around the world. Packing shoe boxes for over ten years has built a fire for OCC within her.

Grace works to support her local Pregnancy Crisis Center (PCC) by co-ordinating a Baby Quilt Challenge encouraging people to donate handmade quilts and other items to the PCC’s Ruth’s Closet ministry.

Grace is a great example of the ministry utility person that some many organizations would love to have but cannot afford to pay. by taking part in GraceWorks you will be touching ministries in a wide area.

Psalm 84:11, “For the Lord God is a sun & shield; The Lord gives grace & glory; No good thing does He withhold from those who walk uprightly.”
