Josh's letter...

God has opened up an opportunity for me to spend a year in Chiang Mai, Thailand working as a missionary. Why Thailand? Over my four years at Taylor I have met many international students who are Missionary Kids from Thailand.   (One is my own roommate, Yechan Moon, who is an MK from Korea.)  These friends have told me about the great need for discipleship that is present there which is near and dear to my heart.

Thailand is less than 1% evangelical Christian, human trafficking of Children is a sad reality, and most significantly, many individuals are going through life without the hope the Gospel of Jesus Christ brings. The encouraging news is that missionaries are alive and active in Northern Thailand but they need more support to reach a land where Buddhism and the King of Thailand reign supreme.

A few Ministries I will have the opportunity to work with are The Creative Center, and an Evangelism Group at Grace International School, which supports 350 missionary families. The Creative Center will use community events to facilitate relationship with college and high school students. Our prayer is that these relationships will open doors to share the gospel and disciple students. Grace International School’s evangelism group involves outreaches primarily to tourists who speak English. Other discussion I have had has been centered around helping run youth soccer camps and sharing the gospel with budding athletes and their families. Beyond this, there are many other opportunities to support missionaries' efforts in areas such as medical-missions, sports ministry, and counseling of missionary kids. It is my desire to go with a heart to humbly and joyfully serve wherever I am needed. I am sure I will be used by God in ways I did not even dream possible.

I earnestly believe God’s hand is on this opportunity. I need as many people to come alongside me and pray as possible. I would love for you to consider praying for me regularly. Pray for the gospel to go forth in Thailand and for workers to rise up and reap a harvest of souls there.

Please pray too for me as I raise financial support. If you feel led, I need to raise $5645, for my plane ticket, visa, and living costs for a year of Ministry in Thailand.
