Shortly after rededicating her life to God in 2010, Michelle watched a film on human trafficking, compelling her to change her major in college and pursue a life of missions.

After graduating college, Michelle moved to Thailand with a two-year commitment to a ministry called Ban San Rak. BSR is a place of refuge and restoration for children where care is provided in a family setting and each child receives focused attention and love. She also worked with the HUG project, which covers prevention, intervention and restoration aspects of anti-trafficking.

After her first two years, Michelle began working with the ministry that founded her church, TheRiver.Asia. TheRiver.Asia is a team made up of many nationalities who partner with communities throughout Thailand to bring wholistic change. It’s through this transformation that they’ve seen countless salvations, healings and deliverances. They are now training pastors and discipling people from other Asian nations to reach their own communities.

After visiting her team serving in Sungai Kolok, a city on the border of Thailand and Malaysia, Michelle felt God prompting her to move to this city where every area seemed to be touched by human trafficking. Feeling called to move to the south, Michelle decided to first return to America and work towards paying off her student loans. She is now returning to the southern border of Thailand, where she will present to local schools an anti-trafficking program designed by A21, a global anti-trafficking organization. She will also serve in a variety of community development projects including children and youth programs. Michelle’s greatest passion is watching individuals experience freedom from their past and discover that they are worthy of love.
