Since 1992, Rocky and Ruth Schmied have served Jesus Christ as home missionaries in Kansas. In September 2023, they moved to Camp J.O.Y. in Guthrie, Oklahoma, where Rocky took on the position of Camp Director. Their oldest daughter, Grace, also moved to work in this ministry. They have been associated with Camp J.O.Y. since 1997, when their children started attending camp when dad was the Bible speaker; the whole family has been involved in different capacities through the years.

As the Schmieds continue to serve the Lord through Cord Ministry International, they keep their mission focus clear: assist in building the Body of Christ by working alongside the local church body and reaching out to the youth in their community with the gospel. They are passionate about equipping and involving followers of the Lord Jesus Christ in reaching their community for Him. Rocky's commitment extends beyond the camp, as he shares his musical talents at care facilities and fills the pulpit when pastors need assistance.
